A vending machine that bakes fresh pizza in minutes for a few euros has got Italian chefs in a whirl before it hits the streets in the coming weeks. The bright-red "Let's Pizza" machine uses infra-red rays & technology developed at the University of Bologna to knead flour and water into dough, spread it with tomato sauce and a choice of topping, and cook it --- all in less than three minutes. For all of the fat boys across the globe, get ready for MAYHEM !!!!!

No More Albino Extermination!

Burundi has arrested eight people found with human bones suspected of belonging to albinos, a government official said on Sunday. The tiny east African nation & neighbouring Tanzania have been convulsed by a spate of ritual albino murders fuelled by a body parts trade. Witchdoctors tell clients that albino parts will bring them luck in love, life & business. "Before arresting them, we did a search & found human bones in their houses," said Nicodeme Gahimbare, a public prosecutor in the eastern Ruyigi province. "The eight were denounced by two other detained people who have already confessed to killing two albinos," Gahimbare said. Albinism is a condition that causes a lack of pigment in the eyes, skin or hair, which makes patients especially vulnerable to skin cancer & burns, & makes life particularly difficult in sun-drenched Africa. Since last year, 11 albinos have been killed in Burundi. Forty others have been murdered in Tanzania since mid-2007. Kazungu Kassim, the head of a Burundi albino association, said: "Authorities have now realised that the killing of albinos is a serious matter which needs concrete action. We urge the government to double efforts in protecting albinos, because what we are witnessing here is a planned extermination of the albino community." There are about 200 albinos in the nation of 8 million people.

Got My Black Card. Where's Urs ?..

In case you haven’t heard already, Visa has launched their own Black Card. This card will be made from carbon graphite, sport a $450 annual fee (much lower than centurion), offer a 24hr concierge like the Amex Platinum & Centurion, & has allows access to Travel Lounge Priority Pass. The Visa Black Card has a unique feel because it is made out of carbon graphite. This higher-end construction makes the card feel elite & distinct. The Visa Black Card will be limited to less than 1% of the US population, meaning that you will probably have to do over a million dollars in purchases per year, though the specific terms have not been released.

Houston: We've "Fixed" The Problem

Astronauts worked inside and out of the international space station on Thursday to install the last set of solar wings, considered the top job of shuttle Discovery's mission. The $300 million framework holding the folded-up wings still had to be hooked up, but getting the final set of wings in place was a significant milestone. Spacewalking astronauts Steven Swanson and Richard Arnold II helped their colleagues inside the shuttle-space station complex cautiously move the 31,000-pound, 45-foot-long girder into position with a robotic arm. "Keep coming," one of the space-walkers said. "It really looks good to me." The actual attachment occurred an hour into the spacewalk. With that, Swanson and Arnold immediately began securing the girder to the space station with a series of bolts. They also had to hook up lots of connections. Discovery delivered the new wings earlier this week. It's the final of solar wings to be installed at the 10-year-old space station and will bring it to full power. It's also the last major American-made piece of the space station. Before going back inside, Swanson and Arnold must release and remove the locks and cinches holding down the solar wings. That will allow the 115-foot wings to be unfurled Friday, an even more nerve-racking procedure than the one Thursday about 220 miles above Earth. The last time astronauts tried to unfurl a solar wing in 2007, it snagged on a guide wire and ripped. Emergency repairs were required. Six solar wings already are in place at the space station. The new ones will bring the number to eight, with four wings on each side. The space station "is almost symmetric, looking forward to that becoming permanent today," Mission Control said in a wake-up message to the astronauts. NASA needs the extra electrical power that the new wings will provide in order to boost the amount of research being conducted at the space station. The pace of science work will pick up once the number of station crew members doubles to six; that's supposed to happen in two more months. "Give us some more power," the space station's skipper, Mike Fincke, told the spacewalkers as they floated out. Swanson was making the third spacewalk of his career. Arnold, a former schoolteacher, was on his first.
Thursday's spacewalk was the first of three planned for Discovery's space station visit. There should have been four spacewalks, but delays in launching the shuttle cut the mission short.
Discovery needs to leave the space station Wednesday so that a Russian spacecraft can bring up a fresh crew.

Aye Weezy: Send Those Documents, Mang

Rapper Lil Wayne must turn over financial records for his latest album to a folk singer who has accused him of copyright infringement. On Wednesday, U.S. Magistrate Daniel Knowles III ordered the New Orleans rapper to hand over records about the sale of 2008's "Tha Carter III."
Karma-Ann Swanepoel claims in a federal lawsuit filed in May that Lil Wayne didn't have permission to sample her song "Once" in the track "I Feel Like Dying." The lawsuit says Lil Wayne's record label, Cash Money Records, failed to negotiate a license to use Swanepoel's song before millions of people downloaded "I Feel Like Dying."

Jay-Z Lives The Best Life. Right, Best Life ?..

When Jay-Z told the world that he wasn’t “a business man, I’m a business, man,” the world seemed to take notice. After humble beginnings with a once independent Roc-A-Fella Records, Mr. Carter rode his success to the top of the charts & the top of the boardroom. In a new interview (shout-out to Best Life), Jay-Z dropped some gems on business, personal tastes, and the secrets to his success. On his personal tastes: "I've always wanted to stay true to myself, and I've managed to do that. People have to accept that. I collect art, and I drink wine...things that I like that I had never been exposed to. But I never said, 'I'm going to buy art to impress this crowd.' That's just ridiculous to me. I don't live my life like that, because how could you be happy with yourself?"On business: "My brands are an extension of me. They're close to me. It's not like running GM, where there's no emotional attachment.""The clothes are an extension of me. The music is an extension of me. All my businesses are part of the culture, so I have to stay true to whatever I'm feeling at the time, whatever direction I'm heading in. And hopefully, everyone follows."To read the full interview, click here.

Kanye West/Louis Vuitton Collabo: Poppin' or Floppin'

Since word broke a few months ago about a sneaker project done by Kanye West & Louis Vuitton, info was scarce and kept under wraps. Photos finally surfaced of (most) of the lineup recently, but pricing has still been a bit of a mystery and a guessing game - until now. I know I might be a couple of days behind everyone else, buut I found information about the upcoming Kanye West x Louis Vuitton shoes including the prices and the names of each model. The men’s collection consists of three models, the Louis Vuitton Don’s (most likely named after Ye, but also could be a shout to Don C, his manager), Jasper’s (named after Kanye’s barber), and the Mr. Hudson’s (named after the G.O.O.D Music artist and 808 collaborator of the same name).

The Cleveland Show Brings You: Kenny West !!!

According to the famed Chicago Hip Hop blog Fake Shore Drive, Chicago rapper Kanye West may possibly be lending his voice for a character on the Family Guy spin-off, "The Cleveland Show". Informed of the possible Kanye appearance by a “reliable source”, Fake Shore Drive was told that Kanye will be playing a character named Kenny West. Aside from appearing in "State Property 2" & possibly "The Cleveland Show", Kanye has rarely appeared in any movies or television shows. Created by Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane, The Cleveland Show will revolve around the lives of Cleveland Brown & his family as they move from Rhode Island to Virginia. Aside from the possible Kanye appearance, The Cleveland Show already boasts an impressive list of actors which will include Sanaa Lathan & Nia Long as Cleveland’s wife & daughter. The Cleveland Show developers Seth MacFarlane & Mike Henry will also lend their voices for the show. The Cleveland Show is expected to air some time this Fall.

Album Sales, Blogs & MySpace: Hand In Hand

When Ghostface Killah professed his disappointment last year about the lack of sales for The Big Doe Rehab compared to the amount of friends he had listed on his MySpace page, questions on the real influence the giant networking site had already been raised. In a recent study titled, “Does Chatter Matter? The Impact of User-Generated Content on Music Sales,” New York University researchers looked to reveal this problem concerning online content & sales, & whether or not there was a way for music Web sites to increase sales inadvertently through independent content. With MySpace being one of the major resources for fans to check out their favorite artists, researchers hypothesized that, “On average, a band with thousands of friends on MySpace to be more popular with MySpace users than a band with a handful,” thus selling more albums in the first month. Using the rankings of Amazon.com, one of the world’s largest online retailers, researchers determined the outcome of their studies surprising to say the least. For one, they found that an increase in MySpace friends for an artist did not correlate to an increase in sales. Not only that, but the amount of MySpace friends did not serve as a strong indicator for album sales in general. On the other hand, blogs that posted content of artists repeatedly on their sites, termed “blog chatter,” resulted in relatively more sales for the artist. Through this study, it would seem that Ghostface’s concerns & artists expectations in general for sales should now be attributed to blogs rather than label-invested outlets.

Who U Tryna Fool, Uncle M ?..

Former Roc-A-Fella Records rapper Uncle Murda, who now goes by the moniker Uncle M, was convicted yesterday over an attempt to use a fraudulent California identification card, according to the Los Angeles Times. The charge, which happened in May of 2008 at the Los Angeles International Airport, occurred when an L.A.X. screener became suspicious as Uncle M, real name Leonard Grant, presented his ID card. While the photograph matched the name, police investigating the claim soon discovered that the ID number belonged to another person. Pleading “no contest,” Uncle M was found guilty for one count of possession of a counterfeit ID, with Uncle subsequently being sentenced to 50 hours of community service to go along with 18 months of probation. Frank Mateljan, spokesman for the city attorney’s office, explained the reasoning behind the city’s decision. “It was a legitimate ID. But it was the ID of another individual.” Added Mateljan, “He was trying to pass it off as his own. His motivation for doing so is unknown.”

Stock Market Headed For Disaster ?!!!!

Stocks plunged today, with the Dow Jones industrials briefly falling as much as 331 points & ending at levels not seen since April 1997. The slump was built on steep declines in financial stocks -- Citigroup briefly fell to 97 cents, & the fear that General Motors might collapse. At the same time, many investors around the world were disappointed that China did not announce an expansion to its economic stimulus program. The expansion had been expected & was a major reason why stocks rallied on Wednesday. The Dow finished down 281 points, or 4.1%, to 6,594, wiping out all of its gains on Wednesday & dropping to its lowest close since April 15, 1997. The blue chips were off 300 points on Monday. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was off 30 points, or 4.3%, to 683, its lowest close since September 1996. The Nasdaq Composite Index was off 54 points, or 4%, to 1,300, its first close below 1,300 since March 12, 2003. The sell-off sets Friday as potentially a very volatile day of trading. The government will report on U.S. unemployment & nonfarm payrolls before Friday's open. The consensus estimate is for the unemployment rate to hit 7.9%, up from 7.6% in January, & for payrolls to drop by 650,000.
So far this year, the Dow is down 25% & is off 53% since peaking in October 2007. The Dow, S&P 500 & the Nasdaq have fallen in 11 of the last 15 sessions. The sell-off in U.S. markets mirrored heavy selling in Europe & parts of Asia. The selling also sent many frightened investors to seek safety in U.S. government securities, gold & silver. Gold closed up $21.10 an ounce to $927.80; silver was up 21 cents to $13.12 an ounce. The yield on the 5-year Treasury note fell to 1.81% from 1.97% on Wednesday. The yield on the note has fallen more than one-tenth this week.
Crude oil fell in sympathy with the market, closing down $1.77, or 3.9%, to $43.61 a barrel. The drop pulled energy shares lower. Two of Tuesday's winners -- Caterpillar and Joy Global -- were down 7.7% to $23.49 & 4.9% to $16.69 after China disappointed investors by not announcing a second economic stimulus plan today.
Exxon Mobil (XOM, news, msgs) fell 5.3% to $62.22, subtracting nearly 28 points from the Dow. Chevron's (CVX, news, msgs) 4.8% decline to $56.46. pulled 22 points from the blue chips.

Build-A-Baby: Free Shipping & Handling

Do you want blue eyes with your baby? That's one of the questions a fertility clinic will be asking, when it begin offering custom-designed babies to would-be moms & dads. Dr. Jeff Steinberg, who operates clinics in Manhattan & Los Angeles, says that within six months he plans to let customers choose their baby's eye, hair, & even skin color. Steinberg, who helped produce the first test-tube baby, admits the technology is not 100 percent perfect, & says best results are couples with Scandinavian heritage, whose gene pools are least diluted. Critics, though, have blasted the idea of designer babies, likening it to the pursuit of a master race.
